Of all the paintings I've ever done, I think I am the most proud of this one. Back when I was waiting tables to put myself through school, I had a t-shirt with a picture of this painting on it. One day some of my customers (also college students) asked me, "Whose is that?" I said, "Mine." With obvious exasperation for my stupidity, the customer said, "No, I mean the painting, not the shirt." I still get a good laugh out of that. Evidently they thought artistic ability meant you got instant fame and fortune...not schlepping burgers.
